Formula
- Tiles per m² = 1 ÷ (tile width × length in metres)
- Buy = round up(area × tiles per m² × (1 + waste%))
- Boxes = round up(tiles ÷ tiles per box)
Assumptions
- Area method, as described by SCG
- We round up once at the end. SCG’s example rounds 7.407 to 7.4 first, so results can differ by one tile.
- Edges, skirting and special layouts are not included
