An STL looks complete and rotates normally, yet a slicer warns about it or shows missing sections. A successful preview does not establish print readiness. Inspect the model and sliced result before repeatedly changing formats.
What the preview can tell you
View 3D helps you inspect the shape and reported dimensions. FileMyLove does not currently validate closed surfaces or provide a print-mesh repair tool.
The Slic3r manual explains that holes and non-manifold mesh problems can interfere with processing. Prusa also notes that automatic repair cannot resolve every damaged model.
Separate the symptoms

Do not close every hole simply to remove a warning: an opening may be part of the design. Retain the original for comparison.
What conversion does
FileMyLove's 3D converter reads a model and exports the selected format. It does not add a closed-surface repair or non-manifold correction stage. A newly exported STL or 3MF therefore does not prove that the geometry was repaired.
For surface corrections, work on a copy in a suitable modelling or repair application and inspect the result again. Avoid overwriting the source you still need as a reference.
Review before printing
- Preserve the original and record intended dimensions.
- Open the model in the destination slicer and read its warnings.
- Inspect the affected region and make necessary corrections.
- Export a corrected copy and reopen it in the destination application.
- Compare size, openings and sliced layers against the design before starting the job.
This is our review workflow, not a guarantee of print success. When another designer supplied the model and its intended shape is unclear, request a corrected file or confirm the design before changing details.
