A merged report can show every page while an Excel workbook attached to an original PDF is absent. Check both visible pages and the attachment list before delivery, especially when the recipient needs editable source data.
An attachment is not necessarily another page
Adobe documents that PDFs can contain attached images, PDFs, Word documents and Excel workbooks. The word “appendix” alone does not tell you how material is stored.
| Material in the source | Our suggested check |
|---|---|
| Appendix rendered as PDF pages | Review thumbnails and relevant pages |
| Workbook or other embedded file | Open the attachment panel |
| Text or link referring to another file | Confirm that you actually received it and can open it |
A sentence saying “see attached table” does not establish that the table is embedded or included in the delivery.
Inspect the original first
In Acrobat, open Attachments. Adobe's Windows instructions start at Menu > View > Show/Hide > Side panels > Attachments; on macOS, start at View. Review the filenames and open the relevant entries to inspect their contents.
We recommend making a delivery checklist: main report, data workbook and supporting images. Keep the complete originals. If the recipient needs to edit the workbook, prepare its source file through a delivery method they accept.
What FileMyLove merges
Merge PDF creates a new PDF from the selected files' pages in order. It does not transfer the source document-level attachment list or automatically open embedded files and convert them into appendix pages.
- Preserve the originals.
- Select the PDFs whose pages you need and arrange them.
- Download the result and inspect the first and last pages of each section.
- Recheck the delivery list, including files that need separate delivery.
Processing stays on your device without uploading documents. If you need a readable appendix, prepare its PDF pages before merging. A page copy does not replace an editable data file.
Match the recipient's requirements
When a system accepts only one PDF, establish whether it expects consecutive readable pages or also accepts embedded files. A page merge cannot establish that every source component survives.
See the general merge and ordering guide, and bookmarks after merging when the source includes navigation points.
